Does anyone have the tools/jigs needed to remove and install the cam bearing on the M8 platform? I have been looking to rent or borrow a set but havent found anywhere that does this..
Anyone have any advice? I see Jims is the standard but its damn near $300.. However georges garage also has the tools but its four or five seperate part numbers which is itself over $200. Id hate to pay this premium to use something one time.
Thanks
I have all of the tools and I'm willing to loan them out so long as you put up a full replacement deposit. There's nothing worse than loaning out your tools and getting them back all F'd up... or not getting them back at all.
To do a cam correctly, you'll need the puller/press, gear locking tool, and the dial indicator so you can measure the runout.

i saw these this morning, and the M8 vs is currently in my shopping cart waiting on me to finalize my plans. does the M8 tool automatically install the bearing to the corect depth or do you have to measure the old bearing depth and replicate it?

From the FM description, "...and the driver is utilized to install the inner cam bearings perfectly straight and to the proper depth"

The bearing driver sets the bearing to the exact depth in the engine case. I'm going to try to get a video together in the next few days for the cam tools, they make removal & installation a simple job
