Hey, anyone know how to quiet down Rush Big Louie mufflers? My set-up is Rush Big Louie with 2.25 baffles and Fuel Moto 2/1/2 ceramic coated headers. Sounds incredible but damn theyre loud... these are on a 117ci M8 (CVO Street Glide) with SE tuner. I live in an apartment complex and work on a military base so I have to putt along in high gear to keep the dBs down 😬
Smaller baffle might help(1.75 inch) lower the db level. I believe Rush sells them. The Cat no longer in the head pipe makes a pretty good difference in sound levels. No Cat = more sound.
Thanks, Rush mentioned that the only safe baffle choices for the M8 with no cats is either 2.25 or 3.00 (in the Big Louies)... so either loud or louder. Im wondering if Torque Thunder Inserts can be used with my set up. If anyone has any ideas or experience with this setup Id love to hear it.
I'm running Fullsac baffles at 1.75 in CVO cans. Had 2.25 and the 1.75's are quieter and by the seat of my pants, seemed to have added some power. May be the size of the Big Louie's...? Good luck!

FuelMoto just came out with some new baffles... not sure if they will fit Big Louies... give them a call and ask...
I have War Horses on my Indian Roadmaster with 3" baffles. When I first put them on, it was so loud that I didn't think I could ride it. After about a thousand miles, it mellowed out where it is comfortable. Maybe run it for a little while and see if it calms down?
I know this is an old post and you probably have already done something.
I'm thinking of a full stage one so starting to do some research on the topic and saw this.
Bought a 2018 Ultra Limited a couple of months ago that has some aftermarket 4" slash tips mufflers (no clue what brand) that are to loud for me.
These have a long and looks like 2" diameter louvered baffle.
I installed the large Thunder Torques and left the baffles in.
They quieted down the sound a few "notches" and I like them.
I don't feel any performance gain but i hadn't road the bike a lot before installing them.
I'm still enjoying the jump from a 103 on the 2015 RK to the 107 on this one.
I was wondering what your thoughts are about the ceramic coated headers.
I had a stock 103 wet head on a 2016 RGU.
I think the fans run more on this 107 than on the 103.
So looking at ways to cool it down and doing some research to see if the ceramics is worth the extra cost.
