i really like mine, sound as good as many of the slip ons out there for a change on the M*, put an RS 468 cam in and they are nice. So far quality is good. And they perform well especially with the cat out.
you mean between loose rattling baffle and a weld crack? if so it's simple...baffle is audible...weld crack is visual and REALLY audible..I've had both on my GEN 1 Canons and in my case the left slip on became a slip off with 360 degree weld crack..was on third set on Canons (GEN 2) when I traded my bike and it they were fine..wanted to love them because they perform, sound and look great...it was going to be either Third Times a Charm or Three Strikes and you're out...for some reason it always seems to be the left side that's having the problem....now I'm just curious if anybody with GEN 2 has suffered from the GEN 1 quality control issues

I meant between gen 1 and gen 2. Is there an appearance difference?
i have gen 2 and no issues after several thousand miles, they even sound better than gen 1, my first set of gen 1 developped a rattle that was from the baffle weld letting go
