Hey I use to run octane boost on my built EVO especially when running 91 octane gas, I like to run ethanol free gas and the only source is 91, I’m sure that’s fine for an M8, does anyone have any experience with adding octane to the M8.
I don't recommend it. I added some lucas octane boost to my 18 RKS last year while trying to reduce some of the ping I was getting under full throttle. I noticed it turned all my spark plugs bright orange when I went to check the color on them. I changed all 4 and filled the tank with shell 93. I'm sure my O2 sensors are orange as well. Never again.

I have a 2018 Ultra Ltd and use AMSOIL Octane Boost on a regular basis. Seems to work good, although now that I've upgraded to a stagell the bike has no pinging at all and runs very crisp and strong. https://www.amsoil.com/p/motorcycle-...mob/?zo=331384
What I do add every other tank is the Quickshot. It helps with the ethanol issues and cleans the fuel system as well, even though I run High grade all the time. https://www.amsoil.com/p/quickshot--aqs/?zo=331384
They have a free shipping deal on until the end of May...

Unless you are increasing the compression . Octane boost is a waste of time and money. 91 is all it needs. High octane does not mean better gas. Just slower to ignite . keeps engine from firing early under compression.
Not with my M8 but on my way home from Sturgis in 1996 there was a 76 gas station that had 103 octane on the pump. I filled it up and she ran like a beast. The inside of my thunderheader was white as a ghost... Must of cleaned her out good. Here in Commiefornia we have 91 octane that's as good as it gets, I wouldn't hesitate to throw in some Klotz 106 or 108 racing fuel maybe 30% fuel to 70% gas just to clean things up but wouldn't make a habit out of it.
Here’s another one to try. Been using it for a few weeks and it stopped my pinging. Runs great. Stock bike with slipons. https://www.liquidhorsepower.com/
I carry a bottle of Octane Boost in my saddlebag for emergencies only. Sometimes you'll come across a gas station that has run out of premium or only carries regular gas. Rare but it happens.
watched guys run that stuff in there hot rods years ago and have read several articles on it..........turns injectors orange....and only raises the octane by points will not raise a full octane. but ...if it gives you a nice warm fuzzy......
