on my 2020 114 oil cooled engine with almost 12,000 miles, and having it enabled since Day 1, I can honestly barely notice the difference between it being enabled or disabled..it's much more seamless and transparent in operation than the earlier iterations, so I set it and forget it

On my SE 110 it was gnarly. I thought I had lost a piston the first time it came on.

Since that experience, I just shut it off. I should activate it and see what it acts like with the bigger bore...because science

He may be biased cause he's a HD Master Tech but "Brad the Wizard" (youtube) told me the opposite. He said it's good for the engine and keeping your nuts cooler is just a sideline.

yup, early EITMS was painfully obvious and annoying for me..it was better on my 2017 107 than on my 2015 Rushmore 103 and now my 2020 114 it's barely noticeable...

I've read elsewhere it has the rear cylinder act as an air pump to help cool the motor when it is active.

Doesn't annoy me at all, almost sounds a little "lopey" like a cam.
I just blip the gas before taking off so there is no stumble...and that's what Harley riders are supposed to do, right?

completely unnecessary on my 2020..like I said, it was the early versions of EITMS that had a very pronounced change in idle not my M8s

Maybe EITMS is more "refined" in the 2020 models. My 2018 is terrible. I think what bothers me the most about it is pulling into a parking lot with non-riding people there watching me park. Once that EITMS kicks in, all I want to do is shut the thing off to get rid of that ridiculous thud thud thud.

However, there is no denying the usefulness of less heat in the engine in extreme conditions. I will enable mine in an unusual situation.

I always had you pegged as a blipper MJ... LOL.
Unnecessary on my 19 Limited.
But some habits, required or not, die hard...and don't hurt a thing.

Bingo. And I believe you're right, the EITMS is for rider comfort. Splitting lanes to a stop light, on the fwy or wherever is just a way of life in Calif.
