The last beast of an engine I built took out the transmission, and I REALLY hate ****ing with transmissions.

All well said above, and I agree. I am not young and racing my bagger like I did my big import bikes, so I can likely make the tranny go the distance.
I am not wanting to do a transmission. I do not do burn outs, not saying have not spun the rear tire, but no burn outs. I do not do WOT upshifts, I back slightly out of the throttle. I do not abuse it as I know the power is there to break stuff. I do run it hard, and do use the power. Great roll on power for passing on rural two lane roads, or in the mountains.

My 13 King is 40 torque and my 19 is 163 torque. I do not do the stupid stuff like burn outs, and so on. I ride them hard and have fun with them. I do not drag race on the strip. I try to take care of them but still enjoy the power.

I recently (yesterday) scheduled my build with Fuel Moto. I shared many of these same concerns, and one in particular was the transmission/3rd gear.

The torque values from a 128" with a mild bolt-in cam are damn near identical to the torque values of a higher lift cam & headwork / higher horsepower. Reliability is just as much a rider responsibility as it is a factor of the build components.

I have a high compression 124" from Fuel Moto in my 2010 RG. I'm used to its manners and I don't abuse it or beat on it. It wasn't long ago that I just wrapped up a Bun Burner 1500/36 without any issues and that was through the hot deserts of Utah and Arizona.

I am greatly looking forward to the 128" build on the M8. The only other 'wear' item I asked to have them install is the Darkhorse Man-O-War compensator. Since I don't beat on my bikes, I'm expecting the other downstream parts to hold up OK, but if they don't that's just the price of admission. I'll have to cross that bridge if I come to it!
