I don't notice that it is a bother, my exhaust and full face helmet might be covering it up a bit.

Is it possible the quieter valve train is allowing the whine to be heard more clearly? Exchanging one noise for another, so to speak?

Yep 19 FLDE the here..and it's almost embarrassing. Bike performs well but at idle...? Was hoping stage 2 and pipes would offset but apparently not. In all other respects, it's a nice bike

I didn't notice it until after reading this thread, lol. I also went from a half helmet to 3/4 last night.

I have not been around any M8 Softails, but my Streetglide whines like a bitch...and I like it!

After the 128, cam, etc., I think it got even louder.

The 2 guys I usually ride with have RGs, and they don't hardly whine at all.

The lope of my cam at low RPM really makes that whine pronounced as the pitch jumps up and down. I totally dig it. Reminds me of the Pete Jackson gear drive I used to run on my small blocks.
