The softails have a louder whine than the touring bikes. On a ride this morning and I could heard my fiancée's Deluxe M8 over my M8 Limited as she pulled up at lights and stop signs.
Yep 19 FLDE the here..and it's almost embarrassing. Bike performs well but at idle...? Was hoping stage 2 and pipes would offset but apparently not. In all other respects, it's a nice bike
I have not been around any M8 Softails, but my Streetglide whines like a bitch...and I like it!
After the 128, cam, etc., I think it got even louder.
The 2 guys I usually ride with have RGs, and they don't hardly whine at all.
The lope of my cam at low RPM really makes that whine pronounced as the pitch jumps up and down. I totally dig it. Reminds me of the Pete Jackson gear drive I used to run on my small blocks.
Embrace the whine!
