Looks like you are trying to power your phone thru it, shouldn't do that. Some of the lower powered phones worked but not high wattage ones. Use the power outlet on the bike to charge the phone and stream via Bluetooth.
Check the condition of your cable. Might have something stuck in there. If not, remove the USB cable from the back of the radio and see if it goes away.
Could you have gotten moisture in the plug? I had that happen a few weeks back on my bike. I think I may have gotten water in the USB plug. I had washed the bike the day before and the cover for that area came open. I guessing water got into the open plug, and when I started riding it caused a short. My GPS screen also started flashing like it was shorting out. It dried out that night and no problem since.
Hi!
I am new here.
MY2020 UL
I wanted to use an android car. Even after connecting a premium usb, the Boom Box GTS does not communicate with my phone.
Before that, I didnt try to connect the phone to usb (I have had my new motorcycle since May).
Boom was updated a month ago.
Version: MY21.20.28.00
What could be wrong?
So I've been having this issue with my 2020 SGS, I have it pretty narrowed down though. It only happens when I have my cord routed through the fairing. Android auto and charging will randomly start/stop, and then sometimes I get the USB error message over and over and over at high speed. I can connect another cable outside the fairing and it's fine for months. Inside the fairing, nothing but trouble.
Observations: I turned on my high-beams after a day of no issues and my phone immediately disconnected. Refused to connect again after that. Any cord inside the fairing ends up not working within a day, same cord outside the fairing will work flawlessly for months on end. Also contrary to some comments I have seen, my radio charges my phone pretty quickly without issue, as LONG as the cord is outside the fairing.
Conclusion: Aftermarket LED headlights are known for EMF noise causing all kinds of issues with radio reception. I have ordered some of the clamp-on noise filters, I'm going to try adding them onto the headlight wiring and see if that resolves this bizarre problem. My best guess so far is that the USB cable is close enough to the headlight wiring that it's picking up enough interference to make the radio go on the fritz.
