In the OPs defense, remember when that stupid Austrian company went to plastic frames in hand guns and how it was an utter failure never to be tried again.

Lol.... and now everyone is copying their designs. GLOCK
I will heat the engine with a heat gun to loosen the locktite , better than a lifter rod blowing through the engine . What is Harley's malfunction ? Do I need to go to the BMW's or Asian bikes ?
Get a Honda , you meet the nicest ppl on a Honda apparently.
Not to beat this ridiculous thread anymore, but has anyone ever actually taken a pic of a failed plastic lifter cuff? Lots of trash talking about how cheap the MoCo is and how the cuffs being plastic must obviously mean they will break.....but any proof showing that this is even or ever was an issue?? Haha, or did S&S create a non-existent issue in the first year of production of the M8.
To put some logic in this non-existent issue....the M8 is in its 5th year of production: any changes to the lifter cuff or any part revisions after half a decade in production....nope. Any reports of mass lifter cuff failures or service bulletins....nope. Only reports of owners breaking the bolts removing them (me included).
The only discussion I can ever recall about these plastic lifter cuffs is related to breaking the bolts removing them.
