I didn't have anything helpful to say. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf.

Really Harley, you have lifter rods pumping up and down and you use a piece of plastic to keep them stable and straight ! I guess I now have to go after market and buy new ones made from billet aluminium and install myself , this will be my last Harley .
To answer your question on lifter cuffs failing and twisting under stress - nope have not heard of any issues.

10 posts in and bashing / railing against Harley. Probably should sell your Harley if you really own one and get some other type of motorcycle if you are not satisfied so your stress level is not as high.

Best regards...............................

What is your malfunction?

You come here ranting like the sky is falling about a part that has not been known to be a failure point.

Just because the aftermarket vendors sell metal units does not mean the OEM parts are inferior.

Please feel free, we won`t try to talk you out of it.

Voting this one to the whiners section.

Well, if BMW bikes are anything like BMW cars, there's a lot of plastic parts in the engine.

Should we tell him about the sumping issue, the lack of suspension, the hot as hell cats, the lean running issues, the oil dripping from the air cleaner, the hydralic clutch problems, or should we save that for anothet day? What's he gonna do when there are real problems? To the OP, go back to enjoying your BMWs and Aisian bikes.
