I broke mine with a mild miss shift from 3rd to 4th.
Only 29,250 miles on my 2020 RGL and this happened to me last night getting on the highway. After tow home, pulled primary cover and it was obvious this slider gear was fubar. Under warranty, but I will not be putting stock parts back in it. Would like man o war, but nobody has one. May put solid sprocket on for now.
I'd be impressed if it was 4140 instead of 4130 which is the weaker of the 2 grades by a good margin for that type application, 4130's wear resistance is much lower. I work with both on our production line part holding fixtures for the robots.
With some of what she was saying I have to wonder if she wasn't confused on the specs in general. OEM is not aluminum it's steel, pretty sure cast not forged with the number of breakages I'm hearing about.
Obviously the stock part is made of "chinesium" and designed to fail.
Here is what I pulled out tonight. Like BigT12 I was shifting from third to fourth getting on the highway when it fractured. Not really beating on it, only about 4,000 rpm. Knew something was up, had trouble finding neutral a few days before it exploded.
Went to my local dealer and talked to parts counter about updated part number from my build date in February 2020. There was none, 2021 bikes use the exact same part number.
I have a solid sprocket in there now, but will probably replace with Man O War when they are available. Only put 20 miles on test ride and adjuster is still noisy. Maybe it will self adjust soon?

Damn! I have that new Cycle Rama ramp sitting on my bench in the garage. I have been so busy traveling for work that I haven't had time to rip it apart, and we are leaving on a 4000 mile bike trip on Friday

Update: Man O War motor sprocket arrived yesterday and installed last night. Works as advertised. Clutch basket is noisy, now I have to take back apart and clean clutches for pieces of metal from the disintegration of sprocket. Thought I had gotten every thing cleaned out, but obviously not good enough.
Damn HD, I'm supposed to be riding this thing, not working on it all the time. F*ck!!
