I broke mine with a mild miss shift from 3rd to 4th.

Both about the same weight.

She said the M8 OEM part is aluminum. I question that one big time!?? She said compensator protects drive train. That is not true. It will wind up solid. It's actually just to smooth out V twin impulses.

The rubber isolator in the rear sprocket protects the drive train on the big cruisers. As Harley grew their motor, they had no choice.

If their part was made from 4340 (nickel chromium molybdenum), it would be tough all the way thru.

I do like it that it appears to have a nice finish on the ramps. May be a little quieter at idle, least for a while.

BigT12, is your broken part magnetic? What happens when you miss a shift. I have done it a few times. Especially when I rode year round in the winter all bundled up. Didn't quite hit it hard enough and it failed to pull in when I came out with clutch. Engine buzzes up but there's no load on anything. How does that break anything?

Reference item 8 isolator.

OEM is NOT Aluminum.
Here's a video with better info, I have the TTS comp on my bike.

The original is not cast aluminum. It's either cast steel or forged steel.. I've seen a few. I'd expect it's heat treated also but maybe not..

Got me seriously considering this cyclerama piece. Since my 128 build my comp is a little noisy and I’m making 138hp 150tq and I don’t want the stock ramp to explode like some have been doing. Seems like a stronger ramp is all you need by my understanding, no need to replace the whole compensator correct?

All you need is the Cycle-Rama ramp, nothing else has to be replaced.
