Thinking about the blocking plate for the chain tensioner on the gear driven cams. I had real quick response from S&S when I emailed them. You might give that a shot too.
Mine is chain driven. I also did check the crank runout and had around 3 to 3.5 thousandths. That includes the rotation and the up and down vertical play. S&S has responded back pretty quick when it comes to emails and phone calls. They called me back within an hour. I have driven it a couple times but just trying to figure out the leak. It is what it is. If it requires a tear down then I guess its 130 time.

I was impressed with the quality of the entire kit. Good luck with your fix. Ken

So something I learned from this is to ensure all the O-Rings are seated properly and be cautious but firm when seating the push rod tubes. I found the source of my leak and it was the middle O-Ring on the push rod tube. I used the larger one from the harley stock pushrod tubes to assist in seating the smaller o-ring. So on the aluminum sleeve it has the cover, spring, flat washer, thick harley oring and then small S&S o-ring.

Overall the bike runs good, just need to work on the mapping. Still have a very heavy fuel setting from the stock Thundermax tune.

The T-Man breathers are a great upgrade and I wish they were cheaper, but it is was it is if you want reliability. I also have the head breathers vented to atmosphere and have also installed a Tranmission/oil vent tube. Its breathing fine, pressurizing fine, and putting down power fine. If I can get the mapping correct we should be in business.

With the bolt for the crank sprocket out, it will blow as you described.

I'm assuming you used S&S quickie pushrods. Someone well respected, at least by me, said the S&S tubes tend to leak (seep). So I used Cometic orings rather than the S&S orings supplied with the pushrod kit. So far no leaks or seeping, but not many miles due to foul weather.

Did you oil the orings before installing then in the heads, lifter covers and tubes? Try twisting the tubes back and forth a little at the bottom to see if they will get a better seat and seal in the lifter covers. Clean everything up and give it a try. If it still leaks there, I'd try different orings.
