Only hear on the left and at idle, and just generally annoying. I've pulled the heatshield and I inspected the muffler. I think it's the clamp for the crossover pipe. I had everything assembled and was hitting the system with my palm and it sounded forward. The clamp is the next part in the system. I pulled the clamp and tried to stuff in some leftover exhaust wrap. Wasn't room for that.

Has anyone had a rattle on this clamp?
well if it is first gen street canon then mystery solved left side muffler rattle was a notorious problem for myself and many others
Not sure if youve had them off, but those clamps can stretch if youve ever had them on and off. Ive reused mine before when changing exhaust systems but the service manual says to replace them once removed to re-install, which I did the second time I had my system apart. Five bucks a clamp. The crossover pipe and left slip-on clamp are smaller than the right slip-on clamp.
First I've heard of this as a common issue. It's a 2018, so I don't know if that equates to first gen. How did you solve it?
dont know what FLHX is but on touring models the early canons had QC probs, after my 3rd set under warranty I have given up on them, same as.a buddy and many others confirming loose rattling baffles

Check the chrome parts in the rear where they cross under the bottom rear edge of the fender, my 2018 Road King rattled left rear it was the fender rattling against the chrome bracket, stuffed a chunk of rubber vacuum line between to stop it. Also the rear muffler hanger can rattle or squeak in the rubber support.
I have a 17 Limited 107 and had a rattle like that. I replaced the crossover clamp (attached/hanging to the tranny oil pan I think) and that solved it. It was over 50,000 miles (maybe even 60) at the time but don't recall exactly. I could see where it had been chaffing against the exhaust because of it being loose but wasn't enough wear to worry about it.
I had the same issue on mine. Wound up being a cracked weld where the pipe t's off to go through the cross over and out the other side. It was a small crack but enough to let the exhaust wobble around and bang.
