M8 service update in 2017 that changed Idle speed was not for oil pump but for charging system . 850 did not allow enough charge.
Want it to sound different at idle ? Put a good aftermarket cam in it not SE crap.

those may be side benefits but I recall the production change in November 2016 from 850 to 950 rpms was due to an idle sag condition related to slow speed clutch input rider complaints..related to TSB M1436 EITMS bulletin...at least they mention it and I have never seen any formal documentation from the MOCO referring to oil pressure or charging system TSBs...all SEPST ECM Stage calibrations from the beginning bumped the idle to 950 from 850 as well

+1. The way I read it (back when that happened) was that it was raised to combat stalling. Nothing to do with oil pressure or charging.
