Three weeks ago, on the way home from a ride, I noticed that the check engine light was on. When I got home I pulled quite a few codes.. As below
ECM
- P1100c
- P1511c
- P1600c
- P2100c
- P2105c
BCM
- C0077h
SPDO
- B1210h
- b1217h
ABS
- C1100c
Despite all these codes, the bike ran absolutely fine. After reading them, I started the bike up and shut it off three times. This cleared them all completely. Engine light off.. No codes.
Yesterday, when pulling in to the garage I noticed the engine light on again. I had exactly the same codes set.. The bike was running perfectly. And, like last time, turning the ignition on and off a few times cleared them completely.
I'm still under warranty and I'll be setting up an appointment to get this checked. But I'm just curious.. Has anyone here seen anything similar with their M8?
My concern is how will they fix this if they can't read any codes and the bike is running fine when I drop it off?

well if the codes came back exactly the same after twice riding it then hopefully it will on the way there..why did you recycle to clear them, twice..while under warranty...hope it gets sorted out

I cleared them to see if they'd come back.. As you can see above, I've recorded the codes. If they don't return by the time I take the bike in, I can let the service department know what they were... And actually, I think when whatever caused a code goes away, the system will drop the code after a few ride cycles..

got it..good to have recorded the codes..I would have shut er' down and had them come get it under warranty with that $h!t ton of codes pop up out of the blue
Is your seat one of those low profile custom solo seat or is it OEM?
I also had a bunch of ECM DTC error codes and the fix was return back to my OEM seat.
I believe my low profile custom seat did not have enough clearance under the seat & it was push down & putting a lot of pressure on my seat harness light connectors & as soon as I changed my seat problem went away…hope the helps.
Interesting. I'm using the Harley Tall Boy seat in place of the stock one.. I never had these codes appear while I was running the stock seat.. Will check to see if it is interfering with the wiring. Thanks for the tip..
