I want to take advantage of all my parts combined, with bigger injectors bigger throttle body and intake and a better flowing air cleaner and get the most out of the cam. When reading the flow charts of the most common ported heads, wouldn't you think to start matching that to the flow rates of your intake set up? get the most out of it as you can. Now I understand these heads flow a lot better than the previous, but there is always room for improvement. I am having an engine builder contact me this week to discuss this, I will update everyone with what we come up with.
You’re running in circles a bit here. If you get the heads ported you’re then back where you started as the cam doesn’t have enough lift to take full advantage.
Let him waste his money, he's already spent a $1000 he really didn't need to, might as well fill somebodies pockets with a couple more. He might actually get another 2hp for his 2 grand.

Do some research. FM has like 3 different levels of head work, I’m sure that other builders have different levels as well. You may find that changing the valves themselves for performance valves and a multi angle valve job will increase the flow the flow/performance as well. It’s the old $$$ vs hp vs practically that only you can answer.
I was talking with my local indy and he has Baisley HP in Portland do some of his work.
He said Baisley told him the M8 doesn't need much in the way of headwork, the 8 valve heads already flow quite well.
Unless you're building a full on race engine it's not really of much benefit .
That's coming from one of the top cylinder head guys in the world.
Do you mind sharing who your Indy is? Dont need one yet but at some point I will. Im not real comfortable with the two dealers in my area; Vancouver, WA.
thanks,
John
If youre pulling heads for porting, the cylinders are right there, so most people are going to do a big bore kit at the same time. Plus, basic big bore kit is relatively cheap.
