Default Weird start up after cam

Installed a wood X22E , FM adjustable pushrods, and S&S lifters, SS tappet covers on my 2022 road glide
I have a Bassani 2/1 and SS tear drop air cleaner

flashed the tune from fuel Moto. I think the bike is running OK once it’s warmed up but every time I start it from a cold start, the idle goes up and down erratically for the first 30 to 60 seconds then it seems to stabilize

Any ideas what can cause this or is it more than likely in the tune? Could an exhaust leak at the head pipe gaskets cause this?

once it’s warmed up and I take it out, I don’t think I noticed any hesitation or anything like that
I think I might hear popping once I let off the throttle but I’m not sure if it’s just the sound of the cam while riding since I’ve never installed this on a bike before.

Most commonly if you installed the cam & flashed the new tune the learned idle and closed loop parameters have been reset and it will take several run cycles for the ECM to relearn as these are adaptive. If you need any additional assistance you are welcome to reach out to us.

Help me learn.

The adaptive process mentioned would happen even if the O2 sensors have been removed?

I am going with the assumption (yep, I did that) that the O2 sensors have been removed with the Bassani 2-1.
Thank you for your patience and teaching moment.

The O2 sensors should have been transferred from your stock exhaust to the new 2-1.

To clarify, if you are changing exhaust systems the O2 sensors should be installed in the new exhaust. O2 sensors are used for closed loop fuel correction, including our tunes.

Well you said you installed the SS air cleaner, some of the original brackets have to be removed and not put back on with the New Air cleaner, double check the directions on RR the AC, if you leave original brackets in place that may / will cause leaks etc.

I got a tune from V&H (amazing tune - heaps of power). The revs drop for a half a second about 10 seconds in, sounds like its going to stall, but kicks back up to high idle. This happens every time for the past two years, about 50 cold starts. Doesn't happen when i'm out and restarting, only when starting before riding.

I'm not stressed about it, happy with the tune.

You really should start your own thread for the specific issues you are having, including the upgrades and tuner you are using to keep any response from being confusing about what they are replying to. And you are more likely to get responses to your questions that may be helpful.

And you could ask a Moderator to move your post for you.
