stuck brake light switch

Question stuck brake light switch
i have 1998 softail when i use the front brakes the light switch sticks, and my lights stay on for a few seconds. i changed the lever but that didnt fix it. should i rebuild the master cylinder? what would cause it to do this? thanks

there is a plunger type switch..could be dirty or could have the nipple torn.

consider spraying some type of lubricant into that area while moving lever to see if it cleans it up.
