Unfortunately I currently have progressive, and after doing a little research to confirm what you said I want to make a change. Do you have any suggestions on insurance providers? Or somewhere to read about which ones stand for what?

Exactly my reasoning. I just went with a local independent insurance guy but I've had good luck in the past with Foremost on motorcycles and UTV's.

Default I had Progressive...

I had progressive for several years and they were very competitive then I bought my Ultra and the rates went up more than I expected. I shopped around and I found the best deal with Dairyland, same coverage only more accessory coverage.
It's worth looking into.

I ha Dairyland in the past as well. Was always curious how they handled claims though. I only had one bad experience ( I deserved it too in a way lol) was when I tried to cancel them. I had to send them three certified letters and two yelling matches with them to cancel me.

Why I deserved it was I was selling the bike.

I've had progressive for 4 years. I got rear-ended by a semi last July while towing my 08 FLHX and 02 FLSTFi. The accident was not my fault, the other company paid for everything and Progressive took great care of me. But when it was over, I traded in my Rocker C toward my new FLHXS. I started out with 2 2008 and 1 2002 Harley with a premium of about $850 per year. Now for the new bike and the 2002 they want $1150! I just don't think there should be this much of a difference going from 3 bikes to 2, even though one is brand new.

So I'm going to start looking at other companies. I will start by calling Progressive to verify that my bill is correct.

I have progressive. Progressive relies very little on your actual driving history. If your credit score isn't over 700 and your name isn't on a deed to a house (add about 25% to your premium), look elsewhere. Geico is a good alternative and there are several others.
