Walked home through the park from Barringer to Verona Avenue every day for 2 years during the Newark Bus Strike -with a Saxophone! I was lucky, my best friend was lugging along a bass fiddle!

went to Barringer in 65 for a while, lived on Taylor St back then , hung out @ the "Blue Flame" on the Ave & Stone St..Dickie Dees still has the best Dawgs!!
I was in the old Barringer as a sophomore in 1964, everything went to **** when they sent all the "demographically distinct" West Side kids there in 1965. I lived on Lake street near Verona Avenue, across the tracks from Belleville.
