I'll hate myself for giving away the secret ( ) but just beyond the North end of the park, maybe an hour or two, is Chico Hot Springs. Give it a google. You want a great place to stay, you gotta check it out.
Ride the Beartooth Hwy and go down to Cody. Take plenty of pictures, and like someone already said, the mosquitos are so large they wear jogging shoes. Enjoy!
On my trip from Sturgis, we took Highway 14A across the Bighorn Mountains to Lovell, Hwy 310 to Hwy72 to Hwy308 into Red Lodge. From there we took Hwy 212 over the Bear Tooth Pass to Hwy 296 (Chief Joseph Highway) into Cody. What a Ride!
The east entrance, Cooke City, does have some road construction that we were warned about. Turned out to be a big nothing. This was 2 weeks ago. Far more accommodations at the west entrance. Grizzlies can be viewed around 6 o'clock p.m. or so at the east side, this is almost guaranteed. Ask a ranger at the info center. While Yellowstone has great scenery, if that's your thing, Glacier National Park is jaw dropping. A bit of a haul from Yellowstone it's still easily doable if time permits. You won't regret it if you go.

That whole area is a great place to ride, just too short of a season, have fun, good advice above to ride the Chief and the Tooth, great roads, if your down in Jackson, ride over to Victor Id just head out of Jackson headed toward Wilson and you'll get a really nice veiw, good time to ride in Yellowstone too, a lot less tourist than a few weeks ago, what route are you taking to the park? If you have time head north to Glacier, that is another great place to ride.
Be sure to pack plenty of cold-weather/rain gear and be ready to encounter stopped vehicles around EVERY curve. Very possible to see snow this time of year - or any time, for that matter - I lived/worked in The Park the summer of '83 at the Fishing Bridge Hammilton Store and it snowed on the 4th of July! Best year of my life!
the wife and I were there in July of 82 on a bike and had snow in the higher elevations and there was still snow banks on the sides of the road.
Post after the trip we would love to hear about it looking to go back next summer.
