Last time I was there was around '83. Had just bought one of those new (at the time) Time Out camper trailers, was Labor Day wknd. Went to sleep and woke up in the morning to about 8" of snow! If I didn't have that trailer acting as an anchor on the way down the mountain I'd have probably dumped the bike a dozen time getting down. Without a doubt the most memorable part of the weekend, between the ice and that old Shovelhead not liking the weather, it was an adventure! Any road you take in that area is a good ride. I was working out of Evanston, Wy. back then and gotta say IMO some of the best riding I've ever done is in that area

Was just there last week. Weather was beautiful, as were the parks. Must sees include Old Faithful and the central geyser basin. The "Grand Canyon of Yellowstone" is incredible, and the road along Yellowstone Lake is a great ride, with lots of gentle sweepers. Watch out for all types of animals, as we frequently saw thenm in or right next to the road. Having a bison approaching gave me a whole new perspective on the size of these animals. The hump on his shoulders was above the top of my head while sitting on the bike.

We did the west side of the park the first day, then down through Teton National Park that afternoon, and spent teh night in Jackson. Great ride, with lots of good photo ops. The next day, we went back the same way, but did the east side of Yellowstone. Wish we had one more day, to see a little more of Yellowstone -- we just didn't stop much. Next trip, I'll stay in West Yellowstone, to get a full day of riding in the north end of the park, then go to Jackson.

The morning view of the Tetons is incredible, as the sun is lighting it up from the east. Afternoon is pretty, too, but lots of shadows on the mountains.

There was some road construction near the south entrance, but no major delays. We took the opportunity to stretch and visit with other motorists.

Have fun, and a safe ride!
