Finally moved out here about 5 days back, been getting the house together and taking care of all the moving basics. I start working next week, but am definitely up for whatever rides are going on in the area!
I drove past Pike's Peak HD in the Springs this morning just to see what they had outside. Gawd they're a far cry from the tiny dealership we had in Lawton, OK...must've had 100 bikes out front and this was just after it quit snowing. I'm loving this place.
Right on, thunder mtn is a huge place allso a HOOTERS right across the parking lot they have a buch of stuff going on in the summer. My sis in- law is from Lawton
You will love it here. We are the riding secret of the west. I left the house the other day and it was 19 but the ride home from work was worth it - 64 and sunny. You gotta love that in February and March. Welcome to the Springs. Remi
I just visited my son at the AF Academy in Colorado Springs back in September. DANG there's a lot of bikes there. Spoke with some guys over at Pikes Peak HD and they said there's a lot of great riding areas there.
I was also stationed at Fort Sill back in the 80's...was so glad when I PCS'd out of there.
PPHD had a big sale on Saturday...yup, it looked like a factory lot. They sold 3 bikes in the hour we were inside looking at clothes for my wife. There's a dozen or so riders from Denver/C. Springs here on the forum. I've met a few of them just poking around and setting up 'cup of coffee' rides. There's a great independant on Hwy 24 (East Platte) named American Motorcycles...great shop to hang around if you get kicked out of PP and C. Sp. HD. Lots of riders down south my way too.
Can't stand Pikes Peak Harley. I'd go to up to Loveland, or down to Pueblo before I'd give PPHD my money, but that's a story for another thread. But saying I'd go to Pueblo for anything is a big statement! LOL
Welcome to town! My family moved here 6 generations ago and no one ever wants to move away for long. I'm up in Golden now due to job opportunity, but you will love the area. Make sure you get out and explore the state.
This past weekend I went offroading throung Rampart range and Woodland Park all day Saturday. Snowboarding Sunday, and rode my Harley all over down town Denver Sunday afternoon with my wife. Only in Colorado.
