Lets just say the rally is cancelled, does this mean that Black Hills HD & ALL the surrounding dealers are canceling also??
the towns are open, Deadwood, Custer, Spearfish, Keystone, Hill City, all the other attractions w/ be open.
So who REALLY NEEDS the same T shirt & Leather guy's on Lazelle St?? Not Me,I have enough T's lol lol..
We go to ride the Hills, Wyo, Montana, the rally is added attraction.
BTW, we ride a LONGASS WAY to get there 1860 mi ONE WAY!! 2up & pulling a Bushtec trailer behind my bike, not counting the amount of $$$ I spend on rooms..
I will call Black Hills HD tomorrow & find out what there plan is in case Sturgis gets cold feet & starts acting like Comrade DeBlasio & Fix -it Phil Murphy in NY & NJ... (2 morons) & cancels the rally..
Will all the concerts be cancelled?? Bars closed?? Bars are open right now in Sturgis, go to the webcams & look for yourselves..
Stay tuned more info is coming..
I was thinking about call the HD dealer as well, but I'll pass and please post what they say. My camping site is paid for and I don't think they will be refunding the cash. It would put a hurt financially on the are as well as the state. I did notice today that the city of Sturgis is having a weekly, I think, music festival and was opening the sign up for either a bike race or marathon.
I did call Black Hills HD today & the info I got from a young gal who answered the phone confirmed, 6/15 is when the city of Sturgis w/ make the call on the Rally, however, I asked how the city of Sturgis would effect the dealer, she replied "it's NOT" the word is that the dealer will still have vendors on site & I guess across the road in the lot regardless of what Sturgis says!!!
So I believe that the campgrounds are open, the towns are open, roads open, don't know about the Concerts?? The bikers will come no matter what, they don't care....Sturgis can't tell Rapid City what to do..
we're going!!! UNLESS WE HEAR SOME REDICULOUS RULING!!!! Riding from NJ for the 5th Time!!
We'll definetly keep our ears open for more info on June 15th..
Well, if you haven't heard yet the Sturgis city council voted Monday the 15th to go ahead with the rally. The vote was eight to one in favor of having the rally.
So, looks like the vendors will be in town and Main Street will be closed to only motorcycle traffic as usual.
My buddy is a campground host in Hill City RV park. He says reservations are full and no cancellations.
Rally attendance is predicted to be lower so this is good year for beginners to go. Just remember to bring your face mask and plenty of hand sanitizer!!!
Goin' for the first time this year to get away from the brain-dead Granola-Munchers and Tree-huggers in Boulder Co for a while - plus, there's NOTHING else goin' on in this terror-stricken country this year. Also, to not have to see about half of the sheep that live in this town parading around in their ridiculous little Covid-masks!
It WAS kinda disappointing to have EVERY big-name band that was scheduled to be there when I bought my pass to The Chip cancel - but in these days and times of massive, unprecedented Bullshit, nothing really surprises me.
Big, tough, hard-rockin' "outlaws" my ***! More like terrified little mice hidin' under rocks! At least it looks like they got a bunch of bar-bands and other mostly unknowns to fill the gap. Glad I wasn't going just to see the bands that aren't gonna be there perform.
Sounds like it's just gonna be one big Charlie Foxtrot to me, with all the restrictions and cancellations of events in the town itself, but I'm goin', anyway. Too bad it had to happen on the 80th anniversary.

Man! That's the reason I'm going - to GET AWAY from the mask and hand-sanitizer bullshit! I don't own either one, and won't.
