I was putting the brake back on and when it clamped right it pinched the right side control wires. How bad are these? I started the bike before putting everything back together, and now it won't start.
That's what I thought I was going to here. Looks like I'm going to go buy some wire, solder, and a soldering iron to learn how to solder wires together.
I was sooo close to going for a test ride of the new apes! Lol. As frustrating as this is, I'm impressed with completing the install with relative ease. Thank you to everyone that has posted tips and pictures of how to do this. It was extremely helpful.
Are the wires severed? Looks like they are just crushed a bit. You most likely blew the 5 amp fuse (not the main fuse) the batt fuse under the side cover. Replace the fuse and then you might be able just to un-smush the wires and tape where necessary.

They're not cut, but don't look the greatest. I just went out and checked the fuses, but I'm not that lucky. Every now and then (about 5 times) the fuel pump would kick on, but wouldn't turn over. Or fuel pump would turn on, turn over, but no spark. It actually started twice, but not consecutively. I'm hoping that I might be able to solder the wires where they are at after a little practice, otherwise I'll have to pull it to solder it, I really hope not lol.
Ahh man, I was hoping for the best. Soldering it is... there are a couple of good videos on soldering wire on youtube, if needed. Oh, along with the soldering stuff, don't forget to get some heat shrink too.

I got it done. Big thank you to ChefRex for the tip of pulling on the wires to see if there was a weak spot, and there was. The white and red striped wire was broke, only one. Got it soldered up, hooked the battery back up, and it fired up right away. Time to go enjoy this 68* Michigan sun.
