Default Adirondacks

I am planning a ride there in early July 08 from No. VA. Also want to get in Niagra Falls. Any of you NY's have any suggestions? What can I expect for weather? I know it's early, but I need to schedule some time. I figure around 5 days. First day heading up and last day returning. Leaves me 3 days of riding in that area. Thanks, John

Hey John, western Mass here. I can't give you any specifics on the area you're interested in beyond saying it's all good! Lots of beautiful scenery and spectacular rides. Also, the NY state HOG rally is in July and is being held at Niagra Falls for 08! Have a great trip. We rode through Va on I 81 this past summer on our way down to Tennessee for the National Rally. We came across quite a few areas we want to get back to and get a better look!

Absolutely great ride up through to Lake Placid, I am up there every year and its good to get back home. Rt 73, Rt 9N they are all good. You wont be dissappointed in the ride, but bring something warm cause even in the summer it can get cold in the Adirondacks at night. Enjoy the ride.

My family has a place in Old Forge and July is absolutly awesome. Usually pretty warm, 70-80's. Then you can hop on RT 90 over to Niagra Falls. You'll pass through Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo on the way.

A ride thru the Adirondacks is great. Blue Mt. lake. Tupper lake, Saranac lake into Lake Placid is nice. If you get a chance ride the ferry across lake Champlain into Vermont. Take warm clothing. I have seen snow flurries in Placid in July!

Good advice from all above. Drop me a PM when you plan on getting out to the falls. I am in Buffalo and depending on what you are looking for I'll try to point you in the right direction.

I am from PA and IMO the adirondacks are as nice as anything in the New England states. The High Peeks of Keen isfantastic riding. Also, I would recommend the jet boat ride that takes you up the Niagara River while at the falls, if you have the time and $. It doesn't go the whole way to the falls, but it's a great ride.
