Yes, they are a bit lenient here. Unless you are riding like an *** most cops will give you thumbs up, or just check out the scoot!
I was pulled over last year because this cop wanted to see what exhaust I was running because he had a softail and was in the market for an exhaust.
Am I taking a chance in not having a sticker, yes, if forced to, I will, but until then there is no need in my eyes.
Let us know how you make out at BC Harley. Good dealer, a bit pricey, but still a good shop.
I went to Kosco to have my inspection done a few years ago and same thing, never even started the bike. Just checked insurance and my turn signals. I think I paid $24. I just moved to PA and have to get it inspected. I was told to go to this local mechanic because he's the only one that does inspections for motorcycles in the area. Its seems most DMV crap in PA is private. I had to go to a private dealer to register my bike, car and trailer, costa shitload too....
I need to get inspection done here in jersey also. I have straight pipes no baffles. Anybody have any suggestions. My wife wants me to get it inspected because I have terrible luck with stuff like this. I will be the first from this board to get a ticket.
Last time I went to Lumberton inspection station, I had a Kawa Ninja with zoomie pipes. They checked turn signals, headlight and brake light and reflective stickers on helmet. That one passed. My '07 isn't due until 2010.
