Tomorrow will be my first NJ inspection, having moved here from NY. I have SE2 pipes installed, and I am concerned that the state inspection stations will fail me. Should I go to the dealer, or does the state show leniency on pipes?
To tell you the truth, I haven't had my bike inspected for a few years now, and am not in any rush to go
If anything I would suggest a dealer. It will cost you at the dealer, but I would tend to think they are more inclined to pass you so that you may purchase more go fast goodies from them ...but don't hold me to it. Best bet is to call a few dealers in the area to see how much, and to see if that exhaust is legal around here.
If you go to the inspection station make sure you have reflective tape on your helmet and eye protection, like goggles or a windshield.
I went to a station one time and passed with slip-on mufflers.

Thanks!
