NMF oil additive to reduce friction. There is a couple of videos on youtube about how it reduces friction and vibration. I was just curious to know if any of you guys have ever tried it?

There is some pretty bold claims on their website such as: "FUEL SAVINGS OR MONEY BACK" and "NMF is the best thing you can do for longevity, performance and efficiency. " Allegedly, your engine will run cooler and your oil will last significantly longer (longer oil change intervals). Safe for wet clutches if applicable.

The best thing you can do for engine longevity, performance, and efficiency related to oil is to use a high quality oil that is right for your engine, change the oil and filter regularly.

The only thing I add to my oil is more oil if the level drops.

Just another snake oil.

As mentioned, use a quality oil. Synthetics are as good as you will ever need.

while i agree with you and the above post. They claim it is different from just an oil additive as this works at an ionic level/polarity (changing the charge created with friction). It just seemed real interesting.

I gave them a call and they are trying to get the word out in the biker community. That being said, the company will send you a free bottle of whatever bottle you purchased if the biker does a small video review of the product.

I am willing to trying it. I figure i don't have much to lose other than a couple of dollars. Ive found a few biker testimonials and they all claim good things. I will try it some time this summer and report back

I just noticed that I have a typo in the thread title. I meant to put "ever" as opposed to "every"

A large part of me agrees but you never know until you try. Worst case scenario i waste a couple of dollars. Im sure we have all done that. I really doubt it will hurt anything other than my wallet.

What I do know about friction is that when two things rub together the first thing that happens is they begin to develop an electrical bond (Similar to static electricity generated when you rub your socks on the carpet). The more friction, the stronger the bond. I an engine, this causes the exhaust gases and residual metals to be attracted. etc etc. I found it all to make sense from a chemistry perspective.. We shall see.

this vid pretty much explains it if anyone has the time to watch:

This one is more of a visual type test with a water jug vibrations:

a few biker testimonials:

So maybe it does work, so what. Do you need it? Most likely no.

SPAM. additives are snake oil. If you need additives you really need a different lube.
