I was chatting with a guy yesterday and he told me he uses the same oil for motor, transmission and primary. Is that even possible? And would anyone recomend this.
No; that's the poorly informed or the lazy man's approach to motorcycle care. Each has a specific requirement, there's no one size fits all approach.
Use the proper lubricant for each application; for example, engine oil doesn't go in the transmission, transmission gears need a correct gear lube. Engine, primary, and transmission are all different environments, treat them accordingly

Yes, 20w50 Vtwin specific oil or 20w50 non energy conserving oil is a common practice in "all 3 holes" Is it what I do, no. There are better options.
