I just started using Ford fl910s because can't get the bosch 3330 from Menard or rock auto any more. So far Ford on white bike with lowers , the filter is white and the label comes off easy . Don't think I'm going to like it on the black bike but I still have two bosch for it. Maybe Rock auto will have the bosch back in stock by the time I need one for the black bike, if not I'll be sporting a white filter on it as I have 12 in stock.
I had steal filter and sold it shortly after using it. If I held it to the light I cold see threw it. That told me the gaps are bigger than 20 micron

Interesting ... second-guessing the use of reusable now. However, the level of contamination they were testing is not a real-life scenario. For guys that change their oil more frequently ... maybe steel (and cleaning filter) makes sense as you are getting the best flow ... with a relatively low chance of ever seeing the level of contaminates they were testing.
Ive always used the HD filters and never had any oil related issues, and dont see any need to change.
agree..crazy thing is inflation has hit the already expensive HD products hard recently..went into our dealership to get an M8 oil filter the other day..$18 now..they said HD raised the prices across the board on most things..called a couple other dealers and validated the price increases..gallon of SYN3 has been $48.95 and now $54.27..and so on
FWIW…I tried the K&N a few times. But, since I went to the dealer for Amsoil…I just went over to the Hd filters agsin. And the K&N are getting expensive too.

I have used the HD filter for the last 17 years, I know it fits and works. I was going to use wix 1 time but had a hard time finding it so I stopped by the dealer and picked up a few black standard ones.
I watched that video a few days ago...the day it came out.
It is interesting, but flawed for comparisons with HD paper filters.
Four reasons:
1. The paper filter used in the experiment has 2-3 times more surface area than the HD paper filter, so the fact that the steel did better on the flow is even better than it would be with an HD paper filter, and the other comparisons are super close...and might be closer if it was compared with a HD paper filter.
2. They also do not disclose the micron rating of the paper filter they used.
3. They completely ignored doing a bypass test. How much does the bypass open on a paper filter vs. a steel. This could be huge, as demonstrated by the flow test.
4, As cj24 mentioned, some of the tests done do not represent real world situations...if one had that much metal...or even a tenth that much metal...in their oil, they would have problems that would make any concern of an oil filter mute.
