Ordered the Scavenger
I look at it this way. I am filling the system back up with 4 to 5 quarts of clean oil. After a few minutes any remaining oil is going to be diluted and flushed. As long as I change my oil on a regular basis there is not going to be any issues.
It is not as if the leftover oil never gets changed out as some would have you believe.
If the left behind oil was the same few ounces and never mixed with new oil then one would be better off pulling the engine and spliting the cases to scrape sludge off the inside walls.
JMHO.

Being that my 2007 Fatty is my first Harley,I want it to last a long time. I wanted to save some cash and do my own oil and stuff like that. I was under the impression that when I changed the oil, it would all be drained... little did I know that the sump retains about 28 oz of old oil [:'(].
I did not like the idea of old oil remaining in the system, especially when I know I got the oil temp up a few times during the summer stuck at a freaking light...
So, I bought a scavenger oil change unit, and I feel that it's about the best thing a person can doto lessen engine wear and to help add life to their engine.I ampleased to know now thatby using the scavenger system that I will never beleaving old oil in the system.
Before I took my bike in for cam change this December, I changedthe oil, <used 20-50 Castrol for v twins> , ran a few hundered miles and the oil was still looking clean on the stick, and my indy wrench even commented on how clean the oil was when he drained it out. I told him I used the scavenger system and he thought that was a good move on my part.
Cheers to clean oil.
