Default Oil temp.gauge

Is a dipstick gauge less accurate than an engine gauge and I presume it would go into the large screw/hole next to the checkball. My dipstick gauge appears to be accurate but I like the look and ease of seeing the temp while riding..

I would think that the engine gauge would be more accurate since it measures the temp in the crankcase whereas the dip stick measures temp in the oil bag which is away from the engine and possibly a little cooler. Tim

I'm using synthetic oils breaking in with group III then group IV then next year will use Redline group V. Won't need an oil temp guage with a group V oil. IMO

All oil temps are taken from the same place. Engine temp is taken from the heads,
as far as I know. Two different animals, two totally different temps.
