Dave,

I think i am changing to Redline oil on my next change, being a Sporty i only have 2 holes but i must say the Harley Syn 3 did not impress me after having the oil analysis done as it failed the vis test for 20W50 and came back more like 10W40.
Oil filters are very subjective and i currently have a "Pure Power" filter on mine which is very spendy for a filter though it is a well built piece.
Next dyno run it will be compared to a Napa filter to see if any claims are valid.
I believe the current HD filters are made by Purolater.
Heres a link for some filter views.

well i was thinking about mobil 1 vtwin oil, i know i can get that at the local autozone but if i understand right i shouln't use it for the tranny..i was thinking i could use the mobil 1 75w90 gear oil in the tranny, now if i could pick up a good oil filter, i wouldnt have to drive very far every time i want to change the fluids in my bike..

You could always buy a few at time from an online discounter like Chicago HD.This way you always have some.
I just bought 4 black filters this time instead of chrome to save some money. They were like $7 each plus $7.50 for shipping. No tax.

Napa Gold 1348. Black in color, peel the stickers off the filter. 3/4" x 16tpi threads,
8 psi by-pass valve, anti-drain back valve, made by Wix. Very good quality. Same filter branded by Wix is 51348.

Will fit 88" twin cams.

Who did the analysis? How many miles on the SYN3? The reason I ask is because after over 4K miles in the brutal South Florida heat, Blackstone sent me a report showing the SYN3 in great shape on viscosity, additives, etc.

[^^^serious questions, not trying to start a war.]
