I did a post here about a year ago. I had heard that some of the military vehicles use synthetic oils. The vehices don't get an oil change just a filter change and topping off.
Not going to that extreme but I have wondered why the MOCO doesn't give a differnet schedule for syn versus dino.
BTW..to answers your question I do one every 5K and I use syn3 or mobile1. I may sneak one sooner due to winter riding. I think the manual says 1.5K for winter conditions but I have never did one with that few of miles.
