I have an 00 custom softail 96ci S&S I purchased an chrome oil tank and had my local shop build me some stainless lines. The tank is different then my old one it has four total outputs. Correct me if I am wrong but the two on the bottom towards the middle of the bike, which I assume the closest one to the center frame is the crank vent. The next closes one to it is the oil return from the filter. Now headed to the back of the bike the next one in line is the oil pump feed line. The farthest one back is the drain line. I hope.
Questions:
Does this sound right for the tank outputs?
If not what is the right one?
Problem:
While trying to remove single wire oil pressure sending unit/ I broke the sending unit so I 1 went to checker and bought another one for a 86 chevy 350 small block I knew they looked the same. Hope they are! 2 I bought a small universal oil pressure gage and insted of putting the new sinder unit back in. I installed the guage in it's place. I then removed both spark plugg wires and cranked over motor. It is very slow to build pressure. Takes about 30 sec. to get to 20psi. So I reinstalled wires and started motor. It ran about 20 seconds, still only getting 20psi. and pressuring up slow. It's freaking me out!! Any advice ??? Does the car sinder I bought have the same release as the old one did? Any input would be appreciated.
