Default What is wrong? oil temp instructions

I am trying to view and print out the Harley instructions posted here:

https://www.hdforums.com/m_323178/tm.htm

But all I get are red "x" boxes where it looks like the pictures are or blank spaces depending on the browser being used (firefox is blank / explorer get red boxes). I can view the instructions for the wally world gauge installation instructions fine, just can't get the Harley instruction pictures. I have tried two different computers and different browsers with no luck.

What am I doing wrong?

The pictures posted by the author have been removed (probably by the author). I'm sorry for the inconvenience but there is nothing I can do at this time to replace them.

Unless someone beats me to it, I have told Terry I will take pics when I do the install and let him match them to the instructions. However, I'm waiting for my Hogtunes so that I can do everything at one time. It'll be a couple weeks.

I just did the HD temp gauge install. What do you need to know?

Thanks but no longer needed for me. Dealer had bike for HK radio problems plus some other repairs so while the fairing was off I just had them put it in and paid the $$ .

How long does it take your gauge to register? I need at least 10-15 min riding before it moves past 100 degrees or so. It will finally settle in around 220 up to 230 depending on what kind of riding I am doing but takes 30 min or better to get there. Moves up faster when I get right on the interstate V country roads.

I installed the HD unit and followed both the HD instructions listed in the noted forum and for pictures, used the WallyWorld instructions. I found that by combining both sets of instructions, all worked well. I installed my sensor in the extra port on the front of the pan. I chose for ease to run the wiring along the clutch cable as noted in the WallyWorld instructions. I also find it takes 15 plus minutes to reach 100 degrees. The maximum temp I have seen so far is about 235 or 240. I do have the HD oil cooler and the outside air temp here in Phoenix was about 115 degrees. With an air temp of 100 to 110 degrees I see typical oil temps of 200 to 230, depending on speed.

One thing I noted that I never saw in the instructions. I chose to not use the metal guage clamp. Instead, I used the plastic clamp from the outside air temp guage. To make it work, I had to drill a hole in the cross brace of the clamp so that one of the guage studs would not hit it. I drilled a hole just slightly larger than the stud so as to allow the brace to still function (not to separate in half).[

I went the wally gauge verses HD because of a cleaner install and lower cost. it does take a little time to warm up because both engine and oil are cold after sitting and cool down. The oil only warms from wash on a hot engine. secondly you have air passing over the engine and oil tank so it takes 20 - 30 minutes for the oil in the tank to totally circulate and warm up evenly. My morning ride to work is 21 miles, part 4 lane 45 mph and part interstate at 65 mph. My temp is approaching 200 by the time I get to work on an 80-85 degree morning.

I just did it also, and I didn't see any change past 110'. I just let it idle for 15mins. So I guess have to take it for a little ride. But from reading past post, this gauge takes a while to see any indication. So I'll take a ride and report back.
