Default Returning to Dino oil from synthetic

I just did the 1k service a couple hundred miles ago. I didn't use the syn 3 in the engine but I did put it in the primary and the trans.
My question is will it hurt anything to return to EP lube in the trans and put the proper oil (non synthetic) in the primary?

No, but not sure why you'd want to. The synthetic will work fine, and the MoCo wants you to use the Syn 3, if'n I'm not mistaken. But, to answer your question, if you drain the primary and want to put dino oil in, you can.

I was reading in the oil forums that "fuz" on the magnet is from gear wear due to the use of the synthetic oils in the trans.

What's the deal with going back from synthetic in the engine?

You can do it wuth no problem, if you want. You can even mix the dino & synth oils if you want.

The "Fuzz" on the magnet is from the use of the SYN 3 (engine oil) in the trans, not from synthetic oils per se. SYN 3 is an engine oil (20/50) and should not be used to lube gears in a trans.
HD recomends the use of it in the trans I feel because of the price of the SYN3 compared to the semi synthetic that they used prior to the SYN 3's appearance. More profit on their part and less stocking of the older lube if they can get most to change over to it. Syn 3 however is not a full synthetic like Mobil 1 and I have switched from Syn 3 to Mobile 1 V Twin and like the difference.

Harleys primary oil is fine in your primary also and has been used sucessfully for ions at less than half the price of the SYN 3 which has no advantages over the old oil in the primary

I'm running the Mobile 1 75-90 Gear Oil. This advice came from Skip initially. A little research showed that is approximately the same weight as the 20W-50. I really like the way it runs.

I run the redline shockproof heavy and it does the job well. I get no fuzz on the magnet , so that sums it up for me.

FYI; If you check the Mobil 1 75w90 gear lube specs and Amsoil 20w50 motorcycle oil specs you will find the Amsoil actually has a much higher vicosity index at 120C (212F).

My 2cents.
