Sorry, if my post made it sound like a jerk. Didn't mean it that way. The noise would certainly concern me also and I'd get it back to the dealership ASAP. I just know that the MEM for my Dyna is very specific aboout positions and hot and cold oil checks. Even to the point of mentioning that the dipstick has to be pushed all the way in. As you said however, they do not say everything. Care to guess how many times I "turned" my dipstick the first time, before trying to pull it out as i turned. Only after it was out, could I see how it actually fit. Hoping for the best for you. Art

I have read my manual several times, its the bible for things like this. But it is sometimes only accurate to a point. Some find other info through experience which is what I was/am looking for here?
I have been on forums for several years and know the ins and outs of repetative questions like these, but it never hurtas to ask. I am not being that guy that has no common sense just looking for an honest opinion from people who love thier harleys and have had them much longer than I.
I think my oil is okay, still not 100 percent sure on the noise though.
Thanks all, now I am getting somewhere. I apologize. My bike is a 2005 Dyna super glide efi. It goes in Tuesday night for my pipes and other accesories. I will have them look at it then.
The noise appears to be coming from the top... it goes away when I shift to a higher gear.. maybe it is just common noise.
