Any experience this? Ordered Drag Specialties twin cam filter w/nut by mistake on the Lake Shore site and had a BIG reduction in valve train noise. These are cheaply made in China. Drag says 10 micron paper element. I usually use the HD 5 micron and the K&N occasionally . I switched back a few times to make sure and it's a quieter motor with the Chinese filter. I have 95000 mi on a 95 ,37g build. All I can think of is maybe my lifter bores are worn and the Drag filter flows so much more than stock that it makes a difference. I hate putting junk on my motor but I'm tempted to buy these again because quiet was nice while it lasted. I have the stock filter back on and I miss the cheap piece of crap filter. They also cost the same as the Harley Black,so price isn't a factor.
If you have a 1995 EVO then you should be running a 10 micron filter and NOT the 5 micron HD filter. The 5 micron filter will oil starve the top end on an EVO. If you have a TC 95" build then the 5 micron should work.

The oil filter on an Evo is on the return line to the oil tank, it can not affect oil flow to the top end.
Actually (correct me if I'm wrong) the Evos were a thirty micron filter.
Not sure if the filter efficiency is the same as the Harley filter, but Wix says the 51215 filter has a nominal micron rating of 21 microns, they don`t give the actual beta ratio, so the spec they give is vague...

just one sample and I think maybe the EVO filter was 30 microns.
As I said, the oil filter on an Evo engine bike is in the return oil circuit, and will have no effect on oil flow or pressure to the engine, it can only affect the scavenge system, which could cause some blow by out the breather. An Evo pump will be able to handle a TC oil filter, unless the pump is worn out.
A lot of guys have run full size car oil filters on their old shovelheads (which has the same basic oil system and pump) and never had any scavenge problems.
But we still don`t know what type engine the OP has....
