Friday performed my 30,000mi maintenance switching out the transmission fluid to the Spectro 75W-145 6-Speed Platnium Synthetic gear oil. Kind of like the color (purple) since it was easy to see on dip stick when checking. I will admit bike now does shift a tad smoother. Long term opinon is now in the works.

I got lucky and found an indy that stocks it @ 18.99 a qt.
I've tried a lot of brands in the trans over the years, this is the one for me,
My 08 FLHR Road King 6-speed transmission started with factory dino, then Syn3 @ 5,000 mile servicing. At 10,000mi I switched to Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W-90 gear oil. It made shifting quietier and finding neutral a snap. So I guess it's working well, and it gets changed every 10,000mi.
So why would you go from something that cost 8 bucks a quart, that is working well, in exchange for something that is almost 4X the cost? I would not be afraid to bet money you will NOT notice a difference.
I wish I had the money to throw away a lot of you seem to have! Oh, and for those that say it is cheap insurance, I have 138,000 on my bike with no oil related tranny problems. I run Mobil1 75-90, Syn 3, or whatever cheap fluid I can find.
I put the Spectro 6 speed oil in my bike today and the difference was absolutely night and day, good bye clunky downshifts!
I cannot believe how well this stuff works!
