I've been reading the Oil change posts. I saw Redline Shockproof mentioned. I've never heard of it.. So I did a little research. Looks like good stuff. Now here is the thing. I have 15K on my 05 Roadking Classic. I've been running SYN 3 in all 3 holes since 1000mi because my dealer said to. I have had no problems at all. I change the oils, all 3, and filter every 3000mi.
I do however get a slight wine in 2nd and 3rd under acceleration. I'm thinking of switching to the Redline Shockproof heavy based on what I've been reading. I live near boston and it is quite a bit cooler here. to be honest runnint that 20-50 in the trans never seemed right to me.
Redline Shockproof Heavy is the best HD trans fluid Ive run so far.
It has made many clunky HD trans shift alot better, stops some whining too.
When I had my shop, I always recommended to my HD customers.
Im doing my '07 SG 1000 miler next week, Ive got the whiney 5th gear & Im putting it in the trans...
put it in my trans, will run nothing else. hard to believe an oil can change operating characteristics , yet it does.
spilled some in the grass. sh$5 was there for weeks. nothing washed it off the grass.
cool pink color as well.
Used Mobile 1 in my cars, since it came out in the late 70's early 80's......great for high heat conditions and winter environment....no sluggish starts due to thick oil....during winter. But to each his own......what ever you use, it's gotta be better than the old norm!!!!
Redline also makes a Shockproof Light and a Shockproof Ultralight...i have used all three...my favorite is the Shockproof Light...it is yellow and is less viscous than the Heavy...it has the same properties as 75/90 gear oil and the same no-fling properties as the Heavy

Change out that fake Snythetic oil named Syn3 for Amsoil 20-50 or mobil1 and put redline in the trans, and I kid you not, it will feel like you are riding a different bike! It will be so much smoother you will smile from ear to ear, and it will run cooler too!

Get that crap out of your bike!
I too had HD switch over to synthetic at my 1000 mile service. Hated that crap so bad, as soon as I pulled into the garage after a 400 mile trip one afternoon, I drained the motor and trans oil out. (Left the HD stuff in the primary)
Switched over to Redline 20W50 in the motor and put the heavy Shockproof in the trans...........never looked back and this will be my oil of choice till I take the dirtnap.
