I have so much to learn here, but one (or two) quick question(s):
I'm debating on which transmission fluid to use:
1) Mobil1*Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90
2) Mobil1*Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-140
3) Redline heavy shock proof
I live in Wisconsin and that's where the majority of my riding will happen...Midwest mostly.
Additionally, I've settled on Mobil1 synthetic V-Twin 20/50 for the crank and the same for the primary...thoughts????
First off excellent choice with Mobil 1 Synthetic V-Twin 20W-50 for the crank and primary. Been running this combo for 4 years. I used the Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90 in my tranny up until this year. Neutral was easy to find and easy shifting. No complaints. And the price was like $10.99 qt. Changed it out every 10,000 mile since it was so cheap.
This year I switched to Spectro Platnium 6-Speed Transmission Gear Oil 75W-140. Really not a big difference but it feels like shifting is slightly smoother. 1st gear glunk is quieter. Pricey though. Dennis Kirk sells it for $17.99qt.
