Default Should I remove primary chaincase cover?

I'm about to change the fluids in my 07 Ultra for the first time and I'm going from HD Syn3 to Amsoil 20w-50.

The service manual says to add 38 oz. to the primary after draining with the drain plug but that 45 oz. is needed after the primary chaincase cover is removed. That indicates to me that 7 oz. of the HD Syn3 will be left in the primary if I only pull the drain plug.

Assuming I'm right, will it hurt anything if I put the Amsoil on top of that little bit of HD or should I go ahead and pop the cover to get the last of the HD out?

Thanks in advance.

No worries. They will mix just fine.

Just change it do not remover the primary cover . The small amount is meaningless
And opening the cover could cause leaks or other issues just no worth it.
