oil cooler delete?

Question oil cooler delete?
Hi all, I'm new to the forum. Been using other forums for my truck and other types of work. I'm currently bobbing my '79 shovel and I'm wondering if I can delete the oil cooler. It was something HD added for just a couple of years and I almost never see one on other bikes. So do you think I really need it?

There are a zillion old shovelheads out there running without oil coolers.

Your engine will be fine.

My brother's shovel once had boiling oil on a hot day.

I`m going to not believe this one, as the boiling temp of motor oil is somewhere around 500 degrees F, and it would be on fire at that point...
