Default Primary Chaincase service level.

HD 2005 roadking, just put lube in the primary... Bike is set Level. What is the best visual reference to verify proper service level? (is it full/correct?)

Book says: "lubricant must not be higher than the spring."

What is the "spring"?
(Is it the circular disk w 6 bolt heads?)

I put about ~32-34 oz in already (Mobil1 20w50), and can barely see the fluid below the "disk"... I just don't want to over-service the primary... Am I looking at the correct "spring"?

I spilled a little from the first qt, so I lost track of exactly how much - swatted at a mosquito (Wisconsin) :-)

The clutch diaphragm spring. It's on the end of the clutch basket.

I clicked on the attachment that you provided, but it will not open. Is there another path (website or place) where I can go to view it? Thank you for your effort, but I just can't see it yet. Please help.

Post more. LOL. I think you gotta have 5 posts or be a member for at least 5 days to view or post pictures.

Good catch, gttracer. Just noticed that the OP has a 2005 RK, so the spec must have changed on the newer models.

To the OP, use whatever your owner manual says. Mine says 38 ounces.

I always just put a quart in mine and bolt it up. A full quart is plenty.
