Default Primary fluid / amount

I think this has been brought up so forgive me if it has. My question is I used to fill the primary on my pre 06 bikes up to the clutch spring as shown by a picture in service manual, and not go so much by the ozs. Now I see in the manual that your suppost to put in 38 0zs. and has no reference to the clutch spring level. Is that what most of you do with 07 to present touring bikes, add 38 ozs. and call it good to go ?
Thanks Jonnierock

I still and always check to see that it just covers the bottom of the clutch basket.

When I changed primary fluid In my 09 I put in 32 ozs and that brought it up to the clutch spring, but with that being 6 ozs. short, of what the manual calls for I'm thinking of putting in another 6 ozs. What do you guys think ?
