Does any one know about an advanced rider course that does not mean riding thru slow cones? I've found one for racing, but what I's be interested in is one that has you going about 40 MPH.
Last year lost a long time riding buddy (30+ years)to a left turner. He was doing about 60 when it happened. I can do cones no problem, but things get different at higher speeds. Looked at Ride like a pro Westcoast but it seems like slow riding and not what I'm looking for if there is such a thing? Any help would be appreciated.
The ERC and the Riding like a Pro Class are both slow riding...Still teach you some good stuff but usually nothing over 20 - 30 mph.
There are 2 classes at Willow Springs you might look into:
Superbike school...Rice rockets but I hear awesome results are had from this class. Everyone talks about it. I want to take this class at some point.
Street Masters...Focuses on keeping your street bike inline when cornering. I really don't know anything but what is on the website about this one...If you take it tesll us about it.
I recently purchased the Ride Like a Pro V dvd. The first part of the dvd is the regular how to make a u-turn etc. The last part of the dvd is motor officer course. To me this was the most interesting and challenging. not really sure 12-14 exercises, 18' figure 8's etc.. Pretty tough stuff.
There are a few high speed motor officer exercises in the RLAP 5. There was one that got my attention. They even state on the dvd before showing you the exercise, "Do not attempt this exercise unless you have an ambulance standing by."
Appreciate the links. I'm notputting Ride like a Pro down, it has it's usefullness. My club has them in our library. We have the motorcop cone exersizes with dimensions. Just looking for more info and knowledge. Been trying to get ahold of a SD motorcop instructor, finally got ahold of a regular motorcop who will talk about what they learn. Here in SD they practise at Qualcomm Stadium but the general public is not welcome (been there twice, watched but told not to go on the course). Again thanks, I'll keep looking and checking out sights and will let you know.
