Default first ticket

well i saw a rider get the first ticket i have seen here for apes in the last 4 years. couple of guys were riding in the lane next to me and the tribal police were in front of me, after a mile or two the cop slowed down and pulled in behind the riders to my right and sure enough he stopped the last one, he had the apes up even with his head. maybe 6 or so inches above his shoulders. ive seen a lot of up over the shoulder apes this year, guess the local police are going to have a field-day handing out tickets.

What state are you talkin? if its CA the law is 6 inches above your shoulders. Thats thanks to Arnold who is a Harley enthusiest. the code is CVC 27801(b)
write this on your registration and show it to the officer if you ever get stopped.

here is a great resource for looking up laws. its pretty easy to use as well.
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

here is the actual section

27801. A person shall not drive a two-wheel motorcycle that is
equipped with either of the following:
(a) A seat so positioned that the driver, when sitting astride the
seat, cannot reach the ground with his or her feet.
(b) Handlebars so positioned that the hands of the driver, when
upon the grips, are more than six inches above his or her shoulder
height when sitting astride the seat.

if it was on an indian reservation, toss the ticket in the circular filing cabinet, they do not respect our legal system unless it benefits them, our court system and the department of motor vehicles will not collect their monies for them, if you do not send it, they have no recourse unless you frequent their land...

The handle bar laws in Arizona are contradictory, one section states

Handlebar Height
28-964C. Handlebars such that the hands of the operator are not above the operator's shoulder height when the operator is sitting astride the seat and the operator's hands are on the handlebar grips.

while another states

Handlebar Height

Maximum of 15" above seat

looks to me like they need to get their act together instead of the double standards that are in place

mine or at or a little below shoulder height. and the tribal police cruise the highway here, 95, and have the same rights as the local or highway patrol.
